About Elastix

Elastix is a Unified Communications and VoIP Telephony solution. It integrates the best tools available for Asterisk-based PBXs into a single, easy-to-use interface. It also adds its own set of utilities and allows the creation of third party modules to make it one of the best software package available for open source telephony.

About PaloSanto Solutions

PaloSanto Solutions is an Ecuadorian company dedicated to the develop and support of open source solutions. Since 2006 is the company behind the Elastix project. PaloSanto began its operations in 1999 and now distributes its services through Ecuador and an extensive reseller network in America and other countries around the world.

History

The first edition of ElastixWorld was held in Quito Ecuador in 2010.

The event was organized with a different approach to conventional technology events existing at that moment. It's main objective is to discuss about IP telephony, VoIP and Unified Communications, bringing the best of both worlds.

This is an open source initiative that has expanded to other levels, incorporating proprietary solutions to the idea.

Mexico 2011, and Spain 2012 are part of the history of the event as the second and third edition respectively.

This year ElastixWorld returns to Mexico to rock the house again!

Two Ecuadorians have developed one of the most popular free software downloads in the world, creating a successful company, PaloSanto Solutions.

When brothers Edgar and Jose Luis Landívar (age 34 and 32, respectively) decided to leave their jobs at tech giant Hewlett Packard to return to their native Ecuador in 1998, some might have called them crazy. A decade later, however, they’ve proven that saying goodbye to Silicon Valley and coming home was far from unwise.
