		Edgar Landívar PaloSanto Solutions Elastix: what's comming? Language: Spanish "In this talk Edgar will discuss the roadmap of Elastix, future plans and ideas and demystify the classic romours." About Edgar Edgar Landivar studied Electronics Engineering at the Polytechnic School in Guayaquil Ecuador. In its early days as a professional he worked as a contractor for Hewlett Packard in Palo Alto California. In 2000 he returns to Ecuador, where he founded PaloSanto Solutions, along with his brother Jose Landivar. In 2006, PaloSanto Solutions launches Elastix, an open source unified communications server, and a popular software distribution of VoIP worldwide. As leader of the Elastix project he has led many initiatives including the creation of new open source projects and promoting emerging professionals. Edgar remains as CEO of PaloSanto Solutions, Elastix Leader and a representative figure of Ecuadorian free software.
		Emil Ivov Jitsi Adding Truly Scalable Video Conferencing to a SIP Platform with Jitsi Videobridge Language: English "Until recently video conferencing has been all about having tons of CPU in armies of video mixers, the endless hassle of handling reservations on video-bridges, proprietary endpoints ranging from expensive to super expensive and, most of all: multi-party video conferencing has always been about poor quality. Well ... No more! These times are over! In this presentation Emil is going to take us through the mechanics of routing-based video conferences and the way that the jitsi.org community has implemented them in Jitsi Videobridge and Jitsi Meet. We are going to talk about how Jitsi Videobridge (and SFUs in general) handle bandwidth optimisation, adaptivity and, most importantly: How to add scalable video conferencing to your existing SIP framework." About Emil Emil Ivov is the founder of the Jitsi project and current project lead for the jitsi.org community. He obtained his Ph.D. in computer science in 2008, at the University of Strasbourg and has been concentrating on Jitsi related activities ever since. Emil is also an IETF contributor, responsible for the WebRTC extensions to ICE (trickle ICE) and other specifications such as the CUSAX technology.

Currently holds the position of Director of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean for Sangoma Technologies. His focus for the last 10 years has been in convergent technologies, business process integration, and the new trends of telecom industry, including the effects of broadband adoption, Public Wireless and the impact of the Internet and the IP world on the way we communicate.

About Gaston Gaston Draque is a VoIP development and deployment specialist at Nexacomm, an IP Telephony supplier based in NYC. He has been working with company's information systems for the last 20 years and with Asterisk since 2005. Combining web, database and software engineering best practices with the vast business possibilities that Asterisk provides, has been a perfect mix for this business oriented professional. Gaston has a B.S in Computer Information Systems, and a B.S in Business Administration from Universidad de Buenos Aires. He is an Associate Professor of “IT Resourc​es Administration” at Universidad de Buenos Aires.

		Jon Bonilla Senior Developer Kamailio in Elastix 3 Language: Spanish "One of the cool things about Elastix 3 is the inclusion of Kamailio, a proxy, as a fundamental component of the SIP traffic. During the presentation we will talk about: The place of the proxy on the architecture, the functionality added to Elastix, The possibilities with this addition to the code and several considerations that may arrive." About Jon Jon started as a GNU/Linux administrator, working in this for 13 years and then got involved in the VoIP world at first in 2007 with Asterisk and later in 2009 with OpenSER/Kamailio. Currently he is working in Sipwise developing VoIP solutions, based on OpenSource technologies, for carriers all over the world. This is second official participation in ElastixWorld and his third time in Latin America where he appeared as a speaker at the 4K Conference of Colombia 2012.
		Juan Oliva Silcom Security on Open Source VoIP: putting the icing on the cake Language: Spanish "Voice over IP is the most popular tool in unified communications; the appearance of Asterisk allowed a greater number of companies to have access to this technology. As a service that is performed on the IP protocol, is subject to the same threats as other services which were already used by companies, and gradually, recommended practices begin to appear on the scene, however at a lower rate than implementations in the world. What opportunities present distributions of open source VoIP and how they pose in front of the current digital insecurity?" About Juan Juan has been a Linux solutions consultant for over 10 years. During that time, he has become an auditing specialist of information security and IP telephony infrastructures. Because of this, he has been frequently invited to several conferences and symposiums of Security and Ethical Hacking.
		Mark Spencer Digium Marks talks to the community Language: English "The creator of Asterisk talks about the beginnings of this solution and his thoughts about VoIP and the telephony industry" About Mark Mark Spencer founded Digium, Inc., in 1999 as Linux Support Systems while still a computer engineering student at Auburn University. When faced with the high cost of buying a PBX for the company, Spencer simply used his Linux PC and knowledge of C code to develop his own PBX. This was the beginning of the worldwide open source phenomenon known as Asterisk. As Asterisk gained in popularity, Spencer shifted his business focus from Linux support to supporting Asterisk and opening up the telecom market. Mark renamed the company Digium and transformed the fledgling upstart into the leading open source telecommunication provider in the world today. Spencer is widely regarded as the pioneer of open source telephony and gives frequent keynote addresses to large technology audiences.
		Michael Iedema OpenBTS OpenBTS - Building Real Mobile Networks, Big or Small Language: English "OpenBTS implements a complete GSM stack for voice and SMS. It also supports GPRS and UMTS 3G data standards. With an off-the-shelf server and SDR (software defined radio), it is now possible to build real mobile networks. These networks can be used to support true fixed-mobile convergence, bring coverage to remote areas or just experiment and innovate within the cellular network itself. Because OpenBTS converts all cellular signalling and media directly to SIP and RTP, the development environment should be familiar!" About Michael Michael is a Senior Engineer at Range Networks, creators of OpenBTS - an Open Source GSM base transceiver station. After first experimenting with VoIP in 2004, he worked on several IMS proof-of-concept projects while studying in Germany until founding Askozia in 2007. After five years of developing Asterisk solutions, the emerging world of possibilities using Software Defined Radios is equally disruptive. Commodity cellular handsets treated as SIP endpoints. GSM networks deployed using a completely Open Source platform running on low-power commodity hardware. Exciting times!
		Olle E. Johansson Edvina 10-4-1 : The Open Communication Revolution agenda Language: English "SIP 2.0 was published as an RFC in 2002 and started a revolution in the telecom industry. The big move away from traditional technologies is still happening and things are moving fast. But 99% of the implementations of SIP are still focused on ISDN-over-IP, something that is very frustrating to many that believe that there are much more functionality in SIP. WebRTC is about to become standardised and we already see some early implementations. How will this affect the SIP industry and what should be in focus for the coming year? Johansson is a consultant working with architecture, implementation and development of large scale Open Unified Communication platforms. Olle is a long term member of the Asterisk.org Open Source project, contributing with source code, documentation as well as being the co-founder of Astricon, the Asterisk Bootcamp trainings and the original author of the dCAP certification for Asterisk. Olle is also involved in the Kamailio.org Open Source SIP server project with trainings, documentation and implementation.

About Pablo Pablo is an Electronics Engineer with a mention in Telecommunications, for The Austral University of Chile. He works as an IT consultant in public and private companies, and he's also the founder of www.redlibre.cl, a project that provides voice over IP and authentication for hotspots. Pablo met Asterisk in 2006 and has implemented several telephony projects for telephony and dialers with large companies and call centres. He is currently developing new products related to the "Internet of Things" and "Home Automation" services - his motto is "let the machine work for you .."

He was also lawyer of the Legal Division of the Department of Telecommunications. Pedro specialises in IT (Information and telecommunication technologies), he has experience in national and international regulations on intellectual property, personal data, computer crime, and electronic commerce. Pedro is a promoter and active participant in civic movements related to technology, where he has interacted with several personalities from industry, government and parliament. He is an expert advisor to both public and legislative sector on issues related to IT.
		Rene Ramirez Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Open source as a platform to promote technology innovation Language: Spanish "The Secretary talks about the advance in technology innovation promotion in Ecuador." About Rene Rene Ramirez is a Scholar, Economist and Master in Economic Development from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands, and Master in Government and Public Policy by the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences in Mexico. He has served as National Secretary of Planning and Development, Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Chairman of Higher Education, President of the Public Company Yachay EP, and President of other agencies of the Ecuadorian Government. He has published studies relating to poverty, inequality, knowledge economy, higher education, good living, ecological economics and time management. He has contributed to the construction of the National Planning System of Ecuador, in the National Plans of Good Living and the transformation of the Ecuadorian higher education. He coordinated and led the National Development Plan and the National Plan for Good Living from 2009 to 2013.
